“He’s There Whenever I need Him”

Mark is my dog whisperer.  He not only helped to train us as pet owners in the best ways to exist with our dog, he is there whenever I need him.  Always ready to answer a question about her behavior, weigh or a health concern or feeding issue.  Extremely professional at all times, Mark is serious about what he does, yet the love for your animals shines through.

“He Worked His Magic”

Our beautiful and misbehaved dog was a rescue, although we are not sure what we resuced him from. He was so Alpha, his Alpha had Alpha. Mark came just in time. He worked his magic and our beloved dog is a wonderful part of our family! We were concerned that if we trained ourselves and our dog,he would loose his freedom and exuberance. As Mark said, with freedom comes responsibility and we could not be happier with the results. Our dog is as happy today as the day we got him and we could not be happier! Thank you Mark for changing our lives for the better!!!

“He Trained Our Little Barking Machine”

Mark, I just wanted to drop you a quick note and tell you that what you did Wednesday night was nothing short of amazing, in fact it’s right up there with the parting of the Red Sea…  We arrived with Molly and I thought for sure you were going to toss us out based on all the noise coming out of our little bark machine.  You didn’t, and by the end of the night Molly and I were parading around the room, simply walking past the same dogs that she was so excited about earlier.  I knew from the first time we met you that you were the guy!

“Mark Is Very Passionate With Dogs”

Mark is very passionate with dogs. My dog Max was a rescue-he was found abandoned in an apartment for 3-4 days and because of that it made Max have aggressive issues. He bit my boyfriend 3 times and didn’t listen to us. We weren’t sure if we would be able to keep him. I asked around work to see what dog trainers were out there and my friend from work recommended her dog trainer-Mark. My bf and I decided to sign Max up for his class. I went to the informational meeting and just going to that really impressed me. I went home and told my boyfriend that our dog trainer is a dog whisperer. Mark asked everyone about their dogs-what kinda food we feed what kinda toys they have and from that he could tell us what they need to get off of and what we need to change that could cause their behavior. Max was the most disobedient dog in the very first class-jumping on the couch, barking, biting, and growling. There were times when I had to call or email Mark to find out what I could do because Max was chewing on his bed or max was doing this. Mark will take a call or email anytime of the day and be more than happy to help you with your dogs behavior if they’re getting out of hand. By the end of 6 weeks, max was sitting by non-speaking command, laying down, walking beside us on walks and no longer being aggressive. Mark does an amazing job turning an aggressive dog into a sweet well behaved dog. He’s great with any type of dog and can turn a shy dog into an outgoing dog as well. Mark is a dog whisperer and I highly recommend him to anyone.

“He Cares Very Much About Your Dog And You”

I have taken other dogs to training classes, but Mark is by far the best trainer I have had the pleasure to work with. He cares very much about your dog and you and wants both to succeed. My dog made tremendous strides in just 2 weeks. He had never gone to a training class prior to this and went into the intermediate class because the time worked out best. Mark did not send him back to the basic level and continued to encourage myself and Jack to keep trying. My husband and family (who did not attend the classes) are very impressed with how far Jack came in 6 weeks. I hope to take a good citizen canine class from Mark in the future. I want to add that Mark’s assistant Michelle was a tremendous help as well.

“He Gives Everyone A Opportunity to Share”

Three levels of experience in our family attended training with Mark: new pet owner, seasoned pet owner who never had formal training and relatively pet owner with some obedience training class attendance. We each brought in a different breed to train. Mark is very knowledgeable! I waited awhile to get in a class because I wanted a trainer who appreciated the relationship between animal and human not just someone who knew how to train an animal. While he teaches the simple fundamentals of obedience training, he also addresses issues and avoids potential issues as he gives everyone a opportunity to share “what’s going on”. We, humans as well as dog, benefited greatly through Mark’s instruction and commitment. Thank you Mark!

“Working With Mark Was Great”

Working with Mark was great! He helped our family adjust to having a new chocolate lab puppy. He was very professional, knowledgeable, down to earth and flexible with his time. We would highly recommend Mark for in home dog training.

“He Is A Dog Whisper”

Mark is great guy and an awesome trainer! We had many “He is a dog whisperer” moments in our class. He helped us teach our little boy many behaviors that we were struggling to do on our own. He also hosts socialization walks Sunday afternoons! It is instantly obvious how much he cares about dogs, and how much he wants to help their owners understand them and be responsible owners!

I Love The Positive Reinforcement Approach!

My 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer Lexi & I just finished our 6 week training with Mark at Tuxedos K9 Training Camp. I was so impressed by the way Mark teaches his students (both the dogs and their owners). Mark has a gentle approach towards training, which I really like. Mark is very patient and knowledgeable. I love the positive reinforcement approach that is taught, as it truly creates a strong bond for the owner and his/her dog. Mark works with each client, discussing their individual needs and wants. Mark was very attentive while listening to each client and offering suggestions or showing each of us how to handle unwanted behaviors with our pets. He was a HUGE help to me, with explaining what I needed to do to help Lexi (and me) achieve our goals. Lexi and I had so much fun attending Mark’s training classes. I will now take all that I learned from Mark and continue to reinforce these skills on a daily basis. I would highly recommend Tuxedo K9 Training Camp to all of my friends and family.

I Was Dealing With An Out Of Control Pup!

If you want to have a well behaved, well socialized dog with whom you can have a great relationship, you need to call Mark. Mark has worked wonders in training my rottie and me. When Mark started working with us two months ago, I was dealing with an out of control pup. The difference in a short period of time is amazing! Mark did an evaluation and customized a training program that works for us. Now we are working on training so that our dog can take the AKC’s canine good citizenship exam. We have worked with other trainers in the past and the difference is that Mark has such a connection to dogs and truly cares about his clients, both the owners and their dogs. Whether you dog is 10 lbs or 100 lbs, Mark will work wonders! Working with Mark is the best investment that you can make in your dog’s life.

I Hit The Jackpot!

I met Mark in the Fall of 2011 when I adopted a new terrier. I had not trained a dog in many years and wanted the new dog to get a good start with us. I hit the jackpot! Mark is a true professional. He cares about the dog to be trained and what its place will be in its new family. He has a patient and quiet manner. He is very knowledgeable about various breeds and canine behavior. He worked with me and the new dog in our home, and I plan on continuing my dog’s training with Mark in a class with other dogs soon.

The Wealth Of Info to Help Was Invaluable!

We rescued a young Newfoundland from Canada and without Mark, I am afraid she would have had to return to her foster home. He answered my anxious call the same day and was here to help much sooner than I expected. Mark was wonderful with her, our older Newfoundland and with us. The wealth of information to help with her transition was invaluable. I was always able to get answers to my questions and I know that he remains only a phone call away, should I ever need his assistance. She has settled in with us and we continue to use the tips that he introduced. I would recommend him to anyone who needs any sort of training with their puppy or dog. I feel very blessed that we have used him for training, and if there are any other dogs in our future, I know who I will call.

He Was Amazing, Great With The Dogs & My Sons!

I want to say first of all Mark was amazing. We hired him at first to come to our house for personal lessons. We liked it so much that we signed up for puppy socialization classes which was awesome. My two sons looked forward to the classes every week with our puppy Sammie. Mark was really great with the dog and my sons. He makes sure everyone is included. I would highly recommend Tuxedo’s K9 for dog training. We will be signing Sammie up for more classes because he enjoyed it so much. Money well spent.

He Is a “Rottweiler Whisperer” !

Mark, you are truly the “Rottie Whisperer”! Our 10 month old Rottweiler named Atticus went through basic puppy training and was nice to be around until his hormones kicked in at about 5 to 6 moths of age. On the advice of our veterinarian, we did not neuter him until he was 9 months old. He was an absolute hormonal nightmare! His behavior was inappropriate and unruly. We neutered him and hired Mark when Atticus was about 9 months old. Working with Mark is the best decision we ever made. In the past month or so, Atticus has become a joy to live with. We are continuing his training with Mark towards his canine good citizen exam. We have always had large breeds and have worked with other trainers. The difference with Mark is that he genuinely cares about his canine and human students. His love of dogs is evident in every lesson. Whether you own a small or large breed, the best gift you can give your dog and y2ourself are lessons with Mark. He is the very best.

His Manner Confirmed I Had Chosen The Right Trainer!

Thank God for Mark and his services. I too believe that dogs can be trained using positive reinforcement, NEVER negative. Mark’s gentle manner with my dog immediately confirmed that I had chosen the right trainer for our beloved Papillion, Cash. Currently we are attending the socialization class on Wednesday’s at Ellison Park, and both Cash and I are looking forward to more formal training this fall in one of Mark’s Immediate Programs. If your looking for a trainer that doesn’t believe in using shock treatments or choke collars, Mark’s the man for you. Thank-you so much Mark, Cash and I are really looking forward to an on going relationship with you and your expertise with training.

His Positvie Approach Is Great!

We can’t say enough about how much we’ve enjoyed working with Mark on training our Goldendoodle puppy Zoie. Being our first puppy, it’s been so helpful to go through Mark’s training. His positive approach is great and really has helped both us and Zoie in developing a very special relationship. May everyone be so fortunate!

All “Our” Fears are gone!

Fonzie is a Lab/Shepard mix. We rescued him anticipating he had some issues from his previous life. We found Fonzie was very fearful of some strangers, especially children. Fonzie was very unpredictable with nieces and nephews who had been over many times. He would nip at them but never really hurt anyone.

When Mark came into our lives he was able to give Fonzie the confidence to know he was safe and that the children would not hurt him. He was also able to teach Fonzie that his behavior was wrong. In addition and probably most importantly, Mark was able to teach my husband and I how to read Fonzie’s behaviors to know whether he was exhibiting fear or aggression. Mark was successful in teaching us how to deal with Fonzie’s inappropriate behaviors which we can use moving forward. Fonzie, my husband and myself enjoyed working with Mark a great deal and welcome him into our home any time.?

She’s a “Good Girl” now!

Lilly is our beautiful German Shepard, who does not really want anyone to ever come to our house to visit, Mark included. The first time Mark came to meet her she pretty much wanted to eat him because she is very territorial.

Mark was very patient and gave her the space she needed but taught us alot of new stuff to make her a nicer dog. We learned so many new tricks from him and how to be smarter then the dog which we were not before he came. People can actually come to our house now and yes she will bark but she will actually warm up to people now with the training we have had, and the commands we have learned. Mark thank you so much for the time you put into Lilly and the help you gave to make her a good girl. Anyone that uses Mark will be very happy with the outcome. Trust me!!?

He is truly my “Buddy” now!

When I first met Buddy he jumped all over me… pawing me… mauling me… nipping my hands and legs and arms (ow!). Buddy loves to jump – but is was keeping anyone from getting close to him, including me.

Mark Patrick, Tuxedo’s K9 Dog Trainer, has effectively changed Buddy’s behavior from “out-of-control” to a handsome, POLITE young dog who is a pleasure for anyone to meet and greet. If you tell Buddy to SIT – he SITS, WAIT – he WAITS, etc… He still trembles all over with excitement about your visit – but now he sits trembling, waiting for your greeting.

Mark is the most patient trainer I have ever seen in action. He is also CONSISTENT with his training – no matter how many times he has to repeat his instructions to Buddy, he does so in a calm and controlled manner. He goes the extra mile to insure that everyone involved with his canine client is aware of how THEY should behave and what they need to do, in order to help in the behavioral adjustment of his trainee. Mark is aware of every detail that may be hindering his client’s progress – and always an advocate for his canine client’s safety and best interests. Mark is truly your dog’s best friend… because he enables your dog to bond with YOU.>

Thank you, Mark, for enabling me to get closer to Buddy.

I Love Dog Walking NOW!!

Walking Walter, my Great Pyrenees Flat Coat Retriever, was a challenge especially during the winter. He would constantly pull to the point where I dreaded our time together. In addition he would jump up and at 110 lbs … well..Since working with Mark Patrick, Tuxedo’s K9 Dog Trainer – Now Walter is a pleasure to walk. He doesn’t pull, he stays right at my side. He stops when I say stop and is as polite as can be. Last month we adopted a eight month Great Pyrenees pup, Catie. Being new to the family she was a little shy and although she walked pretty well on a lease we could never trust her off. With about six weeks of training once a week Catie sits, comes, waits, and you would think she’s been with us as a young pup. I would HIGHLY recommend Mark.

She Was “Scared” Of Her Own Shadow!

Mark did a fantastic job working with my retriever mix Sasha, and my beagle puppy Sophia. Sasha is scared of her own shadow and Mark was able to help her become a much better socialized dog. His tips and advice as well as his patience with Sasha have really started to turn her into a new dog and I am very pleased. Sophia is also becoming a very good dog and I love that she finally listens to my commands. I talked with Mark about an advanced class today and I cannot wait to welcome him back in to my home to work with my dogs. Mark certainly knows what he is doing and you can really see that he absolutely loves his dogs.‎

It Was $$$ Well Spent!

My miniature schnauzer, Chewie, and I loved attending Mark’s Saturday afternoon lessons. At our first session Chewie didn’t pay attention at all to what I was asking him to do, because he was too busy taking in all of the sites and smells. At our last session, which was at a completely different location, Chewie was alert and paying attention and listening to me. Mark is truly a great teacher with lots of patients, not only with the dogs but with their owners. He is always available to answer any questions and full of great advise and alternative solutions for any problem. I look forward to the next advance class. It was definitely money well spent.‎Rated 5.0 out of 5.0

She Had A Fear Of “LIFE”!

Thanks to Mark, my once terrified of her own shadow Golden Retriever, Bailey is now happy and almost a complete social girl. She finally has mastered the come when called command, and recently got brave enough to jump in the pool on her own! Now anytime we go swimming she has to be in there too. She loves meeting new dogs when we go on walks and likes to lick them all over. Thanks for helping her overcome her fear of well, life!!‎

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Having A Happier Life!

I originally contacted Mark to help with our Chocolate Lab, Remi. Remi is a product of a puppy mill situation. She has severe fear of everyone and everything. We could not have anyone visit our home due to her behavior, and we had made several attempts to take her to Country Max to begin socializing her. We could not even get her close to the door of the store. Remi, I am thrilled to say is doing great. She is still cautious around people, but has become brave enough to allow us to have our friends and family over. She also is able to go into Country Max and walk around! Mark gave us so much valuable advice! He has enabled Remi to have a happier life! Thank you!‎

He Was In A Constant “State Of Squirm”!

Thanks to Mark, my red-bone hound mix puppy, Bernie, is well on his way to being a great dog complete with manners. During class it is obvious that Mark loves the dogs and loves what he does. And he is oh so patient! (Even with Bernie in a constant state of squirm.) We just might have to take another class!‎Rated 5.0 out of 5.0

He Is Capable Of Doing “ALL” These Things!

I just wanted to say that working with Mark has been a positive experience for me and Buddy (my German Shepherd). Although Buddy is still just a puppy, he has done extremely well in the training. Mark is very knowledgeable in positive ways to train dogs, and he is also very patient. He has also taken the time to adapt his training methods individually to Buddy. The Sunday afternoon training sessions were very informative and I really enjoyed all the lessons we had, and so did Buddy because he got to interact with the other dogs. In the first class, getting Buddy to focus w as too difficult. But in the last training class, Buddy was focused and he followed the commands that were given to him. One thing that I especially enjoyed was being able to watch Mark as he got Buddy to focus on him…especially in our last training… Mark was able to give Buddy commands and got Buddy to sit still and focus directly on him. It was great being able to watch this because it just proves Buddy is capable of doing all of these things. In short I have learned a lot of new training methods and training corrections from Mark that I never knew until I attended his training . Buddy has just turned 6 months, so as I continue to apply what I have learned from the training, I’m confident I will have a very well-mannered and very well-behaved German Shepherd on my hands. Without a doubt, I will definitely be using Mark again and I recommend him to ANYONE that needs dog training help. Thanks again Mark, it really has been a pleasure working with you.

Mark is the Trainer you will need to help you train your dog to follow your direction and be the best he can be. After just 5 visits, Indy will now sit and wait on his own in any situation. He will also walk with me, not ahead of me. Thank you for helping us help our pet

What a Difference Training Has Made….!

Tucker is a good dog, just a little bit hyper at times and would get really excited when company would come over. Mark’s name was given to me by a local pet store and I gave him a call. Literally, after the first session with Mark, we noticed a big difference in Tucker. Each week Mark taught me techniques to use to train Tucker. Tucker now sits, stays, comes, stays down, and listens very well thanks to Mark’s help. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for dog training! Thanks again!

We Have A Much Happier & Calmer Dog Now!!

We are 2nd owners to our dog Tank, who came to us with separation anxiety. We didn’t have a clue on how to help him overcome this, so, we called Mark and for a very reasonable price and his knowledge, helped us tremendously train our dog. In fact, he helped us train my daughters dog as well, because he came to visit at times. I highly recommend Tuxedo K9 services to anyone who needs to learn how to properly train their dog. Mark is the person to do that and he is wonderful and he is available anytime to answer any questions or concerns. We have a much happier and calmer dog now which makes us a better family for him because now we all understand each other.

With 2 Young boys and A Puppy, Mark Turned Our Crazy House Around!!

I cannot thank Mark enough for his help with our Golden Retriever Daisy. Mark was a great help in turning our crazy house around as we have 2 young boys and a year old retriever. Mark came to our house every Sunday for 6 weeks and with his patience and training techniques turned Daisy into a wonderful part of our family. He took the time to work with all of us including the boys to help train us in training Daisy. Daisy has improved her behavior tremendously and the boys have overcome their fear of her with Mark’s help. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone who is in need of training. We all miss his weekly visits!!!! The McCann Family

Mark’s Suggestions Were Clear And Concise… And They Worked, Sometime Instantly!

We bought Moses spur of the moment. We weren’t really looking for a dog, but he found us. He was bright, loving and a smart little man, none of which comes without challenges because he was smart. I first called Mark over a potty training issue. His suggestions worked instantly! We quickly found out that we needed a bit more assistance in training Moses. We set up time for Mark to come out and EVERY lesson Moses shined! Mark’s suggestions and directions were clear and concise. We were able to get specific training for us and Moses for the particular issues that were going on. Each lesson Moses mastered a trick. Mark’s firm but patient and quiet way had Moses’ attention from the time Mark walked through the door (knowing Mark carried a treat pouch helped). Mark helped us adjust our responses and behavior to get the desired responses from Moses. Mark was always available to help our ‘family’ and help us adjust to each other. We respect Mark for his knowledge and willingness to find and answer for us if he did not know. Mark loves his work and it is evident in how he conducts his business and responds to his clients. We are grateful for all Mark’s help and glad to know he is there should any situation arise in the future.

He Took A Hard To Manage Dog & Turned Him Into a Well Mannered Family Member!

Mark is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and how to handle them with patience and care. His soft spoken voice begged Dexter’s undivided attention and he could get him to do anything with a simple command – verbally or with a hand gesture. He helped us take Dexter from a hard to manage dog to a well mannered and well behaved dog by teaching us to recognize the good behaviors instead of the bad. As Mark says, “he trains people not dogs”. Mark came to our home and worked with us to set the boundries for Dexter within the environment he would be living. He worked on the things that we felt needed to be done, reviewed what was tried, and then answered questions or helped with problems if we had any. I highly recommend Mark to anyone who is thinking about training their dog.

Mark’s Ability To Connect With animals Is Uncanny !!

We adopted Sassy from a lady who was forced to undergo knee replacement surgery and could no longer care for her. She had some emotional issues due to interaction with other dogs. Mark’s kind, caring and supportive instruction benefited Sassy AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, MY FAMILY, more than words could ever describe. Mark is an outstanding human being and his ability to immediately connect with animals is uncanny.

My dog, Cisco, is 7 months old. Thanks to Mark and Tuxedo’s K9 training camp, I have strangers telling me “wow he’s such a well behaved dog” while we are on our walks. When we first adopted him at 4 months old, he REFUSED to walk, scared of the world and every little noise. Now he walks confidently! I am so thankful for the kindness and skill Mark uses in his training… so much that we’ve begun our SECOND training class.
    Thanks, MARK!

I recently adopted Mongo from the shelter and enrolled him in basic obedience class. Many thanks to Mark for his time, advice and ideas for training/living with a deaf dog. I just can’t say enough about the individualized attention we recieved in class and his willingness to help. Mongo has really come out of his shell and is such an affectionate & well mannered pup!

My cocker spaniels and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with Mark. The dogs loved it when he arrived on Thursdays for our lesson. They barked their greetings and wagged their tails. He gave me several training strategies to use with Sammie, my “wild” nine month old puppy as he matures. I was amazed after our first lesson when Sammie would do “sit” and “down” on command.
Jolie, my eight year old cocker, has always had a fear of strange men, but she soon welcomed Mark into the house and even sat on the couch with him for “hugs and kisses”. When I used his suggestions, I was amazed when she willingly went to one of my male friends who had tried for a long time without success to get her to come to him. She also quickly learned the commands Mark was teaching Sammie, and she seemed proud of herself in doing so.
We look forward to a “refresher” course in the spring when Sammie is older. Mark proved you can “… teach an old dog (me) new tricks”. Mark, thanks for your help.

Castle was 14 months old when we adopted him. When he arrived we fell in love with him. I enrolled him in an obedience class – the kind of class I had been through many times in the past with other canine family members. You go to a place with a bunch of other dogs and teach your dog to respond to your commands in an environment that is not real life situations with real life distractions. Castle excelled but it was still the same problem at home. People came to our house and Castle would not listen to me. He would jump and get so excited he would start to give “nips” that would frighten many people and made me realize I had no control. The situation became worst when a delivery man kicked Castle out of fear when he jumped on him. All at once Castle had an aggressive attitude toward anyone coming to the door. We were really frightened. We could not handle our dog who we loved. Because Castle is a pitbull , a breed that is so misunderstood I had many worries. We called a dog trainer that had no experience with pitbulls and it was disastrous with potential danger. We knew her method of training was not for us or Castle. A friend recommended Tuxedo telling us how the trainer Mark practiced positive reinforcement training. After the first conversation with Mark I felt confident he could help us. He immediately conveyed a positiveness that put me at ease. He had lots of experience with pitbulls and shared our belief that kind firmness – positive reinforcement- was the best way to get results. Mark trained Castle and me in real life situations, the park, a visit to the vet, and calmed Castles response to people and MY FEAR of Castle encountering people.
Marked trained both of us! Mark’s deep love for Canines along with his knowledge and expertise in training make him an awesome choice as a trainer. THANK YOU MARK!!! P.S. Castle loves you

  5. Kathryn Cannizzaro says:

This training has been absolutely invaluable. Our Reggie came to us as a scared, unhappy shell of a dog. I thought he’d live under the coffee table for the rest of his life. With Mark’s help, we learned how to help Reggie come out of that shell to be the balanced dog he is today. Although he still has some fear, he is able to be in a crowded room now, he greets people at the door normally, he can go for relaxed walks and he even lets strangers pet and pick him up! It’s been an absolute transformation. One of the things I told Mark in our last session was just how much I think the training was beneficial for us as well. Having a pet that doesn’t know how to love you is hard and Mark gave us the support and encouragement to give Reggie time and training. As a result, Reggie is a gentleman who even knows how to follow some basic commands! Go figure! I’d recommend Mark to anyone with a dog- especially one that is a little afraid of the world. It’s worth every dime to see how happy your dog can be!

  6. Eileen Temple says:

Mark is an excellent trainer and very professional. I have a 5 year old Jack Russel Terrier, that is beyond spoiled, she did not like small children or babies. We are expecting our first grandchild and of course I am very concerned about her aggressive behavior. Mark observed Cinnamon with a couple of small children and a baby and was able to identify her issue and work with all of us to help her through. I don’t believe she will ever really like the little ones, but she now understands that she can move away from them and go to a secure place in our home. I would recommend Mark to anyone and every kind of need they have and I do. Thanks so much, we miss seeing you each week.
